AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
As our mission statement indicates, Caledonian International school is a world class community of learners, aims to develop internationally minded students. We challenge ourselves, our students, and our community to become caring and knowledgeable life-long learners who inquire and take action to create a better world. The After School Activity [ASA] programme is designed to complement the academic programme of the school, providing students with the opportunities to either learn skills beyond the classroom, or develop those skills they have gained through the classroom.
As an IB World School, with our PYP already authorized and as we are MYP world school,
we strive to educate children holistically, helping and encouraging them to expand their creative experiences, live a healthy lifestyle and develop further academic skills.
The After School Activites programme at Caledonian International school is another means through which students can demonstrate and enhance both their Learner Profile attributes and further develop their some or all of their Approaches to Learning skills,.
Which are as Follows:
- Communication skills
- Social skills
- Self-Management skills
- Research skills
- Thinking skills
Our after school activities is divided into three broad categories:
1. Active ASAs
2. Creative ASAS
3. Educational ASAs
Activities will be run in a rotation [students can participate in an activity for a set time, and will then move on to another activity] with most activities being offered over 4 to 6 weeks in a session.
ASAs will be offered on two days per week:
Active ASAs :
- Table Tennis
- Fun sports
- Readers theatre [Drama] Club.
- Recycling Artists Club [painting, drawing, creating artifacts out of recycled items).
- Mindfulness / and or Yoga.
- Newshounds Junior Reporters – School Magazine.
Model United Nations (MUN)
Current Issues Club (debating)
Reading and Reflection Club – might include blogging / examining “text-types,”
not only traditional novels
